Home, at last

Well, we made it home. We had a beautiful honeymoon. Only got rained on a couple times, otherwise the weather cooperated, and the UP is beautiful! I'll post pictures soon (trust me, we took ALOT!) right now, I'm ready for bed. Thank you everyone who came up for the wedding.

Running around like a mad woman...

So, here we are, four days until the big day, and I'm still not prepared. Would you really expect anything less of me? Over the weekend Rob went to order flowers for our centerpieces (we were told they needed five days notice, they were getting a week), and they gave him a number to call and place the order. So, we call. Phone's disconnected. So, today, I am driving back to Brighton to place the order, in person. Argh. Like I don't have a million and three things to do as it is!

Since blogger has decided to eat my last couple of posts, I will sum up what they said. On Saturday we got the ferrets microchipped. The needle is HUGE. Got my hair trimmed and colored. Boy is it RED. Sunday was inventory; it was long, and tedious, and I can still hear the beeping telxons. That's it, short, sweet, and minus all the clutter that was in there originally.

Now, as soon as I finish my yogurt, I will be off on my errand-filled day. In all likelyhood this will be my last post until after the honeymoon. So, if I don't see you Sunday, than tune in come June to find out the details. TTFN.

DAMN YOU BLOGGER!

I hate blogger, I hate blogger, I hate blogger... It has erased my post twice now! Fuckers. I posted last night, and it erased it, and I posted again this morning, and it erased it again. Big Fat Fuckers!

Finally! An Answer!

"Why did the chicken cross the road? Because the chicken doesn't know jaywalking is illegal."

No joke folks, the article's for real.

Pit Bull Genocide in Denver

..."Yet here we have the city of Denver, newly sprung from legislative and judicial restraint, rounding up pits over the past couple of days and killing them like rats during The Plague."

People are stupid. Bigoted, narrow-minded, and just plain dumb. Oh, this angers me so!

The Ferret Who Shall Not Be Named...

As some of you may know, we've been looking for a little ferret buddy for Penelope. She's been so lonely after Ryker passed away. I've been online talking to breeders and rescues and we even went up to a rescue in Flint to have Penny meet some new ferrets. She beat up on them. She truly is queen ferret. Well, last week, a ferret was found in our building. Ferrets being listed on our lease as pets we own, we were a natural to ask if he was ours. No, but he's adorable. We agreed to foster him (we have an extra cage) until/if he's claimed. No one's claimed him. Poor little guy, he's just a tiny baby (half the size of Penny!) We didn't want to name him, so we've been jokingly calling him Voldemort: The Ferret Who Shall Not Be Named. :-) It's been awhile now, and I think the little guy has found a home here and earned his name. Penny adores him. Fate works in wonderful ways sometimes.

Now, for the next two weeks to go so smoothly! I pick up my dress from the seamstress on Thursday, get my hair cut and colored on Saturday, Sunday is shitty inventory at the store, somewhere in here I need to clean the apartment so Shannon can actually come over and watch the critters while we're gone (currently, there's a lovely pathway... LOL! We've been so busy with everything else, cleaning hasn't even been on the list. Martha Stewart I'm not!), not to mention laundry (you know you need to laundry desperately when you're down to your few ugly pair of undies). I really need a vacation BEFORE my vacation just so I can get everything done. Anyone have a magic wand I can borrow?

A little help, please?

As many of you know, I'm getting married May 22 up in Mackinac. We already have someone (thanks, Shannon!) lined up to watch our critters (she watched them when we went to Vegas for a few days last year, and jumped at the opportunity to sit for them again -- she loves ferts!) However, the person I was hoping could watch my parent's dogs can't do it now. Can anyone please sit for three little dogs for a few days? My parents would bring them to you and pick them back up. They have an elderly shi tzu (he needs help getting up and down stairs, but otherwise doing well), a chihuahua (he needs eyedrops daily for his glaucoma), and a very happy chihuahua/mini poodle puppy (she's paper trained). They live in the NW Detroit area. So, if anyone is around there, or on their way up to Mackinac, could you please, please help us out and sit three very sweet, loving dogs? We'd appreciate it! Thanks!

BooYa!

Since Rob and I have started the South Beach diet, I've lost 8 pounds! Yay! Rob's also lost 8 pounds! Go us! My mom's even decided to try the diet (she started a week after us), and she's lost 5 pounds. Seeing the results is really inspiring. :-)

Shower

Well, the shower was yesterday, and it went wonderfully. Jennifer and Carrie did an amazing job getting everything set up and together and everything! Wow! Rob and I came home with a lot of loot. It was good! :-)

After the shower Rob and I went to see Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy with Tammy and Tom. I don't remember the book at all!! The movie was fun, though. After that we had dinner at Carrabas in Novi. Fountainwalk had a carnival going on, so the whole area was very busy, and even at 9:30 at night, we had to wait to eat! Oy! I came home exhausted and collapsed into bed.

Today we had all intentions of staying home and cleaning. Ummm, yeah, that happened. :-P Instead, we went out to a ferret shelter in the Flint area to try and get Penelope a friend or two. She beat them all up. She's one sassy little thing! So, the search for a ferret friend for Penny J. continues....
