Yay! New Bed! Yay!

We have our new bed! We have our new bed! And it's so soft and comfy and big and beckoning me to go fall asleep in right now! They delivered the mattress on Weds, but not the box spring. The sales person at Art Van didn't order us the right one. The warehouse manager caught the mistake as they were loading the truck. Apparently this has happened before. Ugh. Why am I not surprised? So, they brought the correct box spring on Saturday (I had to work, but Rob had the day off, so he stayed at home and waited for them), then Tammy and Tom hauled the head board over from my parent's house in their SUV. Thanks guys! :-) Then we went to dinner at Pizza House and had yummy, delicious deep dish pizza. Well, Tammy and Tom had deep dish pizza. Our waitress put in our order wrong and we got a regular pizza. They made us the deep dish and boxed it up for us to go home, so we ended up with two pizzas for the price of one. That's a lot of pizza Rob and I will be eating for the next week. And no, this time I did not have an alcoholic drink. But Rob did. And he has about as much tolerance as me. :-P

Sunday we slept in. Well, I did anyway. Apparently Rob stayed up until 2:00 am to finish reading book 6 in the Dresden series. They are quite addicting books! Then we went to the gem and jewelry show in Novi. I didn't get much, a couple silver chains. Surprisingly, I didn't see much that screamed my name. Just the same old, same old. That and I really want a D70, so I need to start saving my pennies. After the gem show we saw Batman Begins. Awesome movie! It rocked! Really. If you haven't seen it yet, we highly recommend it.

Well, I hear my bed calling me. It's time for sleep..........

P.S. Like the new profile photo? Rob took it while we were on our honeymoon. It's truly me in my native environment!

Blah, blah, blah, blah

Life has been fairly blah lately (really, Naarah, you don't say? Like we couldn't have guessed that from your title!). I've just been feeling so, well, down. I don't know why (could it be that I'm only taking half the dose of the medication that I'm supposed to? Gee, I don't know...) Moody, bitchy, and generally cranky too. Seeing the doctor on Thurs after I haul my ass all the way to fucking Troy for a fucking manager's meeting (did I mention bitchy?). I'm guessing he'll tell me that I need to take my full dose of meds. Go fig.

In other news, Rob and I bought a new mattress! Yay! No, we didn't break the old one in all of our maritial bliss. We're currently crammed on a full. I'm a bed hog -- big time. Poor Rob ends up getting elbowed and kicked and his covers stolen. We don't have the room for a king.... ok, we have the room for king, but then there'd be no room for our dressers and that would be a problem, seeing as I need a place to keep my clothes (yes, we have a closet, and it's full, ok.) So, we bought an olympic queen mattress. That'll give us an extra foot over what we have now, and will fit on a standard queen frame. We have a queen frame and head and footboard set from Katie and Michael when they moved. We were able to bring everything over but the headboard -- wouldn't fit in my dad's Saturn. Anybody with a truck volunteer?? :-) They're bringing the mattress on Weds. SBC should be coming too. We've gotten tired of Comcast ass-rapingingly high prices and went with the 12 months of sbc dsl for $14.95/month. We'll also be dropping Comcast cable and going with a dish. We're thinking dish network. Just the basic 60 channels plus locals. It'll give us most of what we watch (Sci-Fi, Cartoon Network, Discovery....) and costs less than cable.

Yesterday was Father's Day and my mom and dad came out for the day. They were supposed to be over around noon so we could go to the Strawberry Festival and have some wonderfully healthy fair food for lunch. They showed up around 2:30. We went to the festival for a little bit, I had a giant sno cone thingy (because when one is at a fair, one must partake in the food!). For a National Strawberry Festival there are virtually no strawberries. :-P We met up with Rob back at the apartment after he got off work and we went to the Pizza House in downtown A2 for dinner. Awesome Chicago-style deep dish! Yum! I had a strawberry daquiri, and as is my nature after having an alcoholic drink, I pretty much fell right asleep when we got home. Didn't hear Rob's snoring last night!

Other than that, work is work and not much is going on. I'm going to head off and read some of my book. I've gotten into the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Kick ass books! Highly addictive. It's all Tammy's fault -- she introduced us to the series. Not that I'm complaing! Well, good night.

Vrrrroooooooom!

So, this morning I have to be all the way hell out in Troy for (what turns out to be an overly looooooong) manager's meeting. As usual, I am running a few minutes late, and as usual I am driving in the left lane, and can we all guess what happens next? Yup, after driving for 11 years, the police finally caught up with me. I got a speeding ticket. He said he clocked me going 85 (it's 70 mph on I-94). I really don't think I was going that fast. To make matters worse, I couldn't find my proof of insurance, so I got a ticket for that too! I had my purse dumped out on the passenger seat! I even checked my other wallet when I got home. Couldn't turn it up. Have to stop by AAA on the way home tomorrow so that I can pick up a new proof and get that ticket erased. Of course, I'm going to set up a court date and try to get out of the speeding ticket. He wrote me up for going 75, which will have no points, which is good, but after the honeymoon and all, we're broke. So, I'll bat my eyelashes and see what comes of it. In the meantime, I will be taking a page out of Rob's book and actually driving the speed limit! (I'll still be cursing at all the stupid drivers on the road, mind you. Oh there are so many of them it makes me crazy!)

I'm still working on getting pics up online. There's so many, I'm trying to get them on at snapfish. I'm just sizing them all down, so that it doesn't take 10 years to view them all.

Well, I'm going to try and get some reading done before bed....
