The Gods are Laughing
So, I think Sunday the gods looked down on me and said, hey, wouldn't it be ironic.....
Here's the scoop: Weds, a very nice couple comes over and adopts Sokka and Katara into their lives. They're a very cool couple and we like them a lot. And now I'm cat-free and can finally give my allergies a rest.
Sunday, as I'm sitting at my computer, I look out the window and see several little kittens playing. "Hey, Rob, look at the cute kittens." Awwwww. Turns out those adorable kittens are living under our home. Mom and at least SEVEN little kittens. Under MY home. No longer such adorable kittens. Mom is very sweet and she's adopted us. This morning she was waiting for us to come home on our porch. Her kittens are definately feral and are wary of people. We're going to try to win them over with food. Then grab them, box them, and take them to a shelter.
I've spent the day contacting shelters looking for help. I can't keep (at least) eight cats. Rob and I have talked and we're willing to neuter and vaccinate mom and foster her until we can find her a home. We know older cats have a harder time finding homes than adorable little kittens. And mommy cat is very sweet. She loves to be petted and has even let me attempt to pet one of her kittens. A couple of the kittens are fairly brave and should be easier to get. And a couple are really, really shy. They're going to be work to catch. I'm going to try to get some pictures tonight when I go back out to feed them. Wish me luck finding them homes.
