In the news....

The Ann Arbor News recently did an article on how the Cranbrook Village Shopping Center (where my store is located) has, well, died, and how the loss of Mervyn's is affecting the retailers left there. If anyone is interested, here it is. If the plans go through for the center -- a bookstore, rumored to be Borders, and a speciality grocer -- then the center has a chance. Right now, though, it has a 50% occupency. Most of our business is destination traffic. We don't get a lot of browsers or potential traffic. There's no reason to come to the center -- there's no stores. I'll believe it all when I see it. Mervyn's has been closed for 5 months and there's no activity going on at the other end of the center. So we'll see.
