Because Americans Aren't Fat Enough

Hey America! Tired of digging around in your fast food bag for your french fries while driving? It won't fit in your cup holder (the one that doesn't have your super size drink in it). But wait, it will now! No joke, folks, here it is, your very onwn French Fry Holder:

There’s So Much More You Can Do With Cup Holders…Like Hold Your Fries, To Make Driving Safer.
Cars now come with several cup holders, and this innovative accessory helps you make the most of them! French-Fry Holder holds one order of fries (and its cardboard container) close at hand! Even has a clip-on ketchup cup! Can also hold snacks or crayons. Fits into virtually any-size cup holder, with a no-slip rubberized base grip to help it stay in place. Also fits in a child’s car seat’s cup holder. Dishwasher-safe.

So, do something good for our economy. Purchase some shit you don't need!

Because I can

I never said this was a good idea, nor a socially acceptable one, at that. But, because I can and I'm strange enough to, I have!

I adopted a cute lil' dragon fetus
from Fetusmart! Hooray fetus!

Oh, the insanity!

I know it's been awhile. I've made up for it with pictures, see? More details coming on the insanity of my life and what I've been up to. I must be off now. Gotta go to work and start my second day at the new store. How thrilling.

Rob and I come home Sunday night from the Baptism to find fire trucks at our apartment complex. No fire, just a fight, apperently. However, an hour or so later the fire alarm is going off and we're all herded outside and the fireman are back. No fire, again.

Sunday Rob and I were surprised to find out that we were invited to little Ruby Rose's Baptism (the invitation got sent to my parent's house.... can't trust Carrie with anything!). Ruby Rose is Carrie's little niece. Here little Ruby is sleeping in her grandpa's arms.

Farrah, my long time friend from high school (now living in Austin, TX) just had a baby girl, Hannah. Congratulations, Farrah and Roger! Hannah was born July 15 at 12:50 am and weighed in at 6 lbs, 9 oz. This is a pic that Farrah sent me.

Ella came to visit this past week all the way from San Diego (you know you want to move back here and be with us.... yeah, right. Like anyone'd leave San Diego). So, here we are, mugging for the camera.

Movin' on up....

Well, the past week has been dizzying. The Regional Manager, Merrill, was in town and did his circle of visits with Sandie (our DM). They spent an inordinate amount of time at my store, but it was mainly to offer me a slightly bigger store -- the one on Plymouth Road in A2. It's not the Laurel Park location that I wanted a few months back, but it's got a better lab (digital Frontier, baby!) and it comes with a raise. So, up the ladder I go, balancing one creaky rung at a time. In the meantime, a manager for my store must now be found. I've convinced Mel that she should go for it. She's already doing a bunch of the work already (ahhh, the power to delegate!), has previously managed, gets along splendidly with everyone there, and could definately use the raise that goes with it. Needless to say, it's not a huge a raise, but extra income nonetheless. She'd really be great for it and we're all rooting for her! :-) Sandie wants me to start at Plymouth Road the week after next. I mean, like, holy shit, that's fast! Pam, the current manager there is leaving because she's going to grad school at Tuft's. She'll be gone the first week of August, so that techinically gives me an extra week. But tell that to the boss. She wants me there next week to learn the machines and everything. How in the world I'm supposed to manage that with such short notice, god only knows. Oy. I'll work it out.

It is an absolute torrential downpour outside right now. Rob and I are supposed to meet up with Carrie to go to the Farmington Founder's Festival tonight. By the looks of it, we are so not walking around an art fair. :-P It's been so hot and muggy, though, that this rain is nice. Guess the rain dance Joel asked me do worked. Hmmmmm... mental note, no more rain dances when you're supposed to do outdoor activities. Maybe it's not raining in Farmington. One can only hope.

Shake those hips, baby!

Curvaceous, voluptuous women are more likely to live longer than their slimmer friends. For good looks and good health, the feminine ideal really should be an hourglass figure with well-defined hips.

Hmmmm....

Really, this comes as no true surprise. :-P Especially when there are questions like "when you watch sports, which sports do you watch: a)nascar, b)football, or c) soccer" Ummmm.... I don't watch sports. And besides, with our current political situation, I'm liking Canada more and more. (refraining from commenting on the monkey's butt we have for a president and the upcoming selection for a new supreme court justice that he'll just royally fuck over the country with. nope not gonna say a thing...)

You Are 46% American

But you wouldn't mind giving it an extreme make over.
On the 4th of July, you'll fly a freak flag instead...
And give Uncle Sam a sucker punch!

Another year...

So, it's official -- I'm another year older. :-P And strangley, I feel no different.

Rob treated me to a wonderful mini-vacation! We went to Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, and yes, I did get to feed the giraffes (see the picture below). It was wonderful! They are so cool! Really! It was a nice zoo. They kept it very natural looking -- lots of trees and shade -- very nice. Then we went up to Grand Rapids for the night, had an amazing dinner at this place called Pietro's. Seriously, it's worth the 2 1/2 drive! Oh god, so delicous, such generous portions, did I mention delicious? We couldn't finish our meals and felt terrible because we had no way to refridgerate them, otherwise wed've definately taken the leftovers home. We didn't even have room for dessert! And the girl at the hotel desk had given us a coupon for a free dessert! (Guess we'll just have to go back...) Today (Weds), we went to Meijer Gardens for a few hours. Very nice. We didn't get to the new children's garden, though, it being full of children and all. :-P Then we drove home, making a brief stop in Lansing to stop at Splash of Color. Rob and I wanted to talk to them about tattoo designs and such. We have design ideas in mind, wanted to find out if they were feasible and how much they'd cost, etc. It's where I got my tattoo (oh god, that was, what, 9 years ago! Yeeeesh. I'm getting old!) We're thinking of getting them around the end of summer -- gives us a chance to save a few $ for them and so that we don't have to worry about not being able to go swimming or anything.

And now, we're home. And I'm exhausted (walking around all day for two days in the sun will do that to you. Although I did get a tan... sortof. Most of you would laugh at what goes for tan on me.) Well, off to sleep. Gotta work tomorrow (and print the rolls of film I took). 'Night.
