CONGRATULATIONS!

So, I just finished checking my voicemail. I saw that someone had left me a voicemail at 7:20 am. Who in god's green earth would call me at 7:20 in the morning? I mean, really, everyone knows I am sooooo not a morning person. Well, I checked the message and it was Michael. As in Katie and Michael. As in Katie and Michael in Israel! They just had their baby! A little girl, named Nili! Welcome to the world, little Nili.

I should be getting ready to for work

Yet, here I am, in front of the computer, reading people's blogs and seeing if anything good has popped up on slickdeals, Rob's and mine latest addiction.

And now for my morning whine: I don't waaaaaaannnna go to work!!!!!! But who does, really? Ok, it wouldn't be so bad if the stupid people weren't still out in full force. Some of them were back yesterday. Oh, goddess help me, I thought I was going to strangle them! Or tell them they're too stupid for their digital camera and they must forefit it. Immediately. At least, with today being a Sunday, it's a short day, and I only have to put up with them for 5 hours.

I guess I'll get my ass out of this chair, take my vitamins, get dressed, and plaster my smile on. :-D (you know it's my work smile, because underneath I'm gritting my teeth).

hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to Ritz I go, where the camera you want is not in stock, and the staff is cranky and underpaid, hi-ho, hi-ho

There's something in the air....

The past few days have been crazy! From an inundation of stupid people (they're everywhere, everywhere, I'm telling you!!) to Carrie actually updating her blog! Wow. What on earth is going on?

So, seriously, all the stupid people are out. And they're coming in droves. I've had a week full of them! I mean it was like practically every customer had a head full of styrofoam. How hard is this concept: Singles are $6.99 with membership; doubles are $9.99 with membership. Simple. Not that hard. Ugh. And that was only the start of the day.

Then, for the completely freaky and odd, Carrie, yes Her Royal Highness Queen of Diaster has actually updated her blog. Is this the end of the world?

To top things off, today Rob and I picked up a package at the post office. Not usually an out of the ordinary thing, for most folks. But neither Rob nor I were expecting anything! Guess what it was? A package from Israel! It's our wedding gift from Katie and Michael -- a lovely mezzuzuh. We were so happy to hear from them!

In other, less strange news:

*Rob and I are having ferret tattoos designed! To quote Ron Stoppable: BooYah.

*Rob and I are going to the Greenday and Jimmy Eat World concert on Sept. 11. We realize that we are probably going to be the oldest people there. We're geeked to go anyway! And we'll be donning our Dr. Martens!

That's it for now. Rob and I are going to watch Monk now.

Highland Games and such

Yesterday Rob and I met up with Tammy and Tom for breakfast at Ihop before heading of to the 156th Annual Highland Games. Where, not ten minutes into being there, we lost Tammy and Tom. Rob and I stopped to look and kilts and we turn around and they're gone! I think we kept missing each other, too! Sounds like we are the same places, either right after one another or just sitting in different places. All in all, we had a good time. Saw some giant Scotsmen throw big, heavy objects. Heard a couple of good bands. And Rob got his Irn-Bru. It's, ummm, interesting. Yup, that's the word for it. After the Games, Rob and I went over to their house and watched the DVD Tammy made for us for our wedding. She did an awesome job! :-) And Rob and I are so burnt. You'd think pale-girl here would learn, but noooooooooooo! And now she's red. Hooray for aloe with tea tree extract and lidocane!

Well, I have to be off and get ready for work. Today is going to be a looooooong day. I'm helping out with inventory at my old store. Golly-Gee-Gosh, isn't that exiciting?
